We are proud to offer Earth School!

Tuition Free Option!

Enrolling for the 26-27 school year. Sessions begin in August.

In this immersive program students, age 9-13, have an opportunity to learn permaculture through instruction, play and hands-on, interactive sessions that spark creativity, enable systems thinking, build community, and teach a wide array of skills.

Our focus with our students is the embodiment of the core permaculture ethics: Earth Care, People Care, & Fair Share. Through dynamic lessons we will explore natural systems, ecology, regenerative life skills, regenerative technology, community and more. Students will practice design, growing food, examining landscapes, solving problems and be part of an experience they will never forget.

Outdoor based learning! We learn together, eat together, and grow together at our farm location in Peyton, Colorado.

Classes are held on Thursdays starting in August from 9am until 3:30pm. Full schedule will be posted soon.

What to expect:

Permaculture is a design science. It integrates land, resources, people and the environment through mutually beneficial synergies – imitating the no waste, closed loop systems seen in diverse natural systems. Permaculture studies and applies holistic solutions that are applicable in rural and urban contexts at any scale. It is a multidisciplinary toolbox including agriculture, water harvesting and hydrology, energy, natural building, forestry, waste management, animal systems, aquaculture, appropriate technology, economics and community development. Decisions are made through the ethics of care for the earth, care for the people, and set limits to consumption and share the surplus. As well as a myriad of principles that help with decision making within the design process.

Earth School is held at a working farm. Our curriculum is based on outdoor educational models. There are farm animals, sun, dirt, and hands on fun at every turn. Permaculture is deeply rooted in science and traditional ecological knowledge. Students participating in this program will be required to:

Perform calculations

Follow and apply scientific methods

Participate in hands on, potentially dirty activities

Particiapte within farm context

Work well within a diverse group of adults and their student peers
